The Entrepreneur Dream – Learning to do Business with Richard Branson

Richard Branson..  he is one entrepreneur that we can all learn success from as he dared to dream and aim to make his dream real!! From a very young age..  Richard Branson had a business mind a mind and a dream of being a successful entrepreneur.. Richard Branson was born in Blackheath, London. His father was barrister Edward James Branson (10 March 1918 – 19 March 2011). His grandfather, the Right Honourable Sir George Arthur Harwin Branson, was a judge of the High Court of Justice and a Privy Councillor.

It is interesting to note that Richard Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic performance as a student… but as he progressed in life he discovered his ability to connect with others. On one of Branson’s last days at school, his headmaster, Robert Drayson, told him he would either end up in prison or become a millionaire. It is interesting to note that Richard Branson decided to live the entrepreneur dream and decided that he wanted to become a millionaire instead…

The Entrepreneur Dream – Growing up in a Supportive Family

Both of Branson’s parents were very supportive of his endeavors from an early age. When 15-year-old Richard decided to breed budgies and persuaded his father to build a huge aviary, his father built it. They always encouraged him to go ahead and do what he wanted so that he can achieve his entrepreneur dreams. His parents always treated him and his two sisters as equals. Branson’s parents always encouraged them to have their own opinions and rarely gave them advice unless they asked for it. So this shows that having a supportive environment helps you build your entrepreneur dream.

Realising your Entrepreneur Dream

Some of you might ask, what if my family is not as supportive…?? Can I still achieve my entrepreneur dream? Well you certainly can… if you start to surround yourself with supportive people go and form an entrepreneur support group make sure that everyone is positive and will support each other no matter how silly the idea sounds… because no idea is silly when it is executed properly…

You need a kind of blueprint to help you realise your dream… that is the reason why we created our free Dream Accelerator ebook..

Richard Branson Founded his entrepreneur dream (Virgin Airways) because his wanted to meet a pretty girl that night!!

In many of his entrepreneur talks, Richards Branson always shared his philosophy of “Screw it, just do it” approach by describing how Virgin Airlines was founded. This simply means that if you have an entrepreneur dream in the back of your mind and you are starting to weigh in the various options… he is simply telling you to just go forward with your dreams… sometimes planning too much will also lead to failure..

And Richard Branson's entrepreneur dream (story) goes… One night apparently, he was on a plane to the… Virgin Islands. Richard Branson was in his late twenties. He had a business but nobody really knew who he was at the time.. Richard Branson had a pretty girl waiting for him at Virgin Islands.. so he had to get there that night no matter what it takes! Apparently his flight got cancelled and he was annoyed. He really wanted to get there on time to imprese that pretty girl, so he started calling around about chartering a plane.

Richard Branson didn’t really have the money to charter a plane at that point, but I told them, let’s go ahead and order it.

Richard Branson then picked up a small blackboard and went over to all the people who had had their flight cancelled with him, on the previous flight. And he just wrote on the blackboard, “Virgin Airlines, $29” and sold off the rest of the seats on this chartered plane and used the money to buy the chartered plane. And so legend has it that he got to the pretty girl on time and they have a nice date that night..

You do not have to be the smartest to have an entrepreneur dream

Richard may not be the smartest person around… but what differentiate him from the other is that he borthers to take the first step into taking massive action and also he is not afraid and is willing to fail (if needed)..
The difference is that Richard Branson is willing to start before he feels ready. He had no business starting an airline company. He didn’t know anything about it. He didn’t have the money. Think about it, how many of us have had a flight cancelled? That happens to everybody. But only he was the one who decided to charter an airplane and do something about it.

If you are an entrepreneur in waiting, follow Richard’s advice and screw it. Start before you feel ready and be prepared to relentlessly fight when the going gets tough so that you can achieve your entrepreneur dream!
